Neurotrophic, not stimulant
Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) doesn't push neurotransmitters like caffeine or nicotine. It supports the structural side of cognition — neural growth, myelin integrity and synaptic plasticity.
Hericenones and erinacines
These compounds cross the blood-brain barrier and stimulate Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) synthesis. NGF supports the maintenance and repair of cholinergic neurons in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus.
What the human data shows
Mori et al. (2009) reported improved cognitive scores in older adults after 16 weeks of supplementation, with effects regressing after discontinuation — suggesting a maintenance, not a permanent, effect.
How to use it
Daily, with food, for at least 8 weeks. Pairs cleanly with Alpha GPC and Citicoline for a complete focus stack.
